Duties

• Providing high-quality, person-centred nursing care to patients in an acute hospital setting
• Assessing and monitoring patients' physical, emotional and overall health and wellbeing
• Carrying out clinical observations and monitoring patients' conditions
• Recognising and responding appropriately to changes in patients' clinical presentation
• Administering medications and treatments safely and effectively in accordance with best practice
• Supporting patients with their daily care needs and individualised care plans
• Promoting patient safety, dignity, independence, comfort and wellbeing
• Providing nursing care to patients with a range of acute and complex medical conditions
• Liaising with doctors, families, healthcare professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation and care plans
• Ensuring compliance with relevant hospital policies, clinical procedures and patient safety standards
• Working effectively as part of the nursing and healthcare team across day, evening and night shifts

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in General Nursing and active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Minimum 6 months' post-registration nursing experience
• Previous experience in an acute hospital, medical or surgical ward setting is desirable
• Experience caring for patients with acute and complex medical conditions is an advantage
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Experience recognising and responding to changes in patients' clinical conditions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A compassionate, professional and person-centred approach to patient care
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Flexibility to work a mix of day, evening and night shifts
• Eligible to work in Ireland
• Registered with Clarity Locums (or willing to register)
