We are currently seeking experienced Registered General Nurses (RGNs) to join the HSE GP Out-of-Hours Service. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses looking for flexible agency work within a dynamic Out-of-Hours GP setting, providing urgent primary care to patients across North Dublin.
Whether you come from a hospital or GP practice background, we'd love to hear from you. If you're confident with general patient assessments, IM injections, and IV cannulation (ICs), this could be the perfect role for you. No phlebotomy, baby vaccinations, or cervical smear experience is required. Successful candidates will complete a comprehensive 2-day induction and training programme before progressing to independent shifts.

- Coolock Primary Care Centre
- Ballymun Health Centre
- Swords Health Centre
- North Strand Health Centre
Shift Times
Weekdays
- 5:30pm – 11:00pm or
- 6:00pm – 11:00pm (depending on the centre)
Weekends
- Morning shifts: 8:00am – 3:30pm or 9:30am – 4:00pm
- Evening shifts: 3:00pm – 10:00pm or 4:00pm – 11:00pm
(Shift times vary depending on the location.)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care within the HSE DDOC GP Out-of-Hours Service.
- Perform clinical assessments and provide nursing interventions in an urgent primary care setting.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor, document and communicate changes in patients' conditions.
- Work collaboratively with GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold patient confidentiality.
- Adhere to HSE policies, procedures and best clinical practice standards.
Requirements
- Active NMBI registration as a Registered General Nurse.
- Minimum of 6 months post-registration experience.
- Hospital, Emergency Department, Urgent Care, Primary Care or GP nursing experience is welcomed.
- Competent in general patient assessments, IM injections, and IV cannulation.
- Excellent communication and clinical assessment skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
- Willingness to complete the mandatory 2-day DDOC induction and training programme.
