Duties
- Providing high-quality, person-centred nursing care within a GP practice
- Assessing, monitoring and reviewing patients' health needs
- Carrying out clinical observations and recording patient information accurately
- Administering medications, injections and vaccinations safely and effectively
- Assisting with chronic disease management and health screening
- Providing wound care and dressing changes
- Carrying out phlebotomy and other routine nursing procedures
- Supporting patients with health promotion, education and preventative care
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation
- Working collaboratively with GPs and other healthcare professionals
- Supporting patients and their families with care and communication
- Maintaining a safe, clean and professional clinical environment
- Adhering to NMBI standards, policies and procedures at all times
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in General Nursing and Active Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Minimum 6 months post-registration nursing experience
- Previous experience in a GP practice or primary care setting desirable
- Experience in phlebotomy, vaccinations, wound care and chronic disease management desirable
- Excellent clinical and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong understanding of patient safety, confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Compassionate and person-centred approach to nursing care
- Eligible to work in Ireland
- Registered with Clarity Locums (or willing to register)
